Ghostwriter: Beyond the Page
Ghostwriter: Beyond the Page is the companion show to the Apple TV+ original series Ghostwriter, which is a reimagining of the hit 1992 series.
A ghost haunts a neighborhood bookstore and starts releasing fictional characters into the real world. Four kids must team up to solve an exciting mystery surrounding the ghost's unfinished business.
Beyond the Page focuses on the character Donna via video diary as she embarks on a journey to write her own original story. Throughout each episode, Ghostwriter characters will pop-in and visit Donna to help her solve various challenges in the story development process. You will see characters and storylines from familiar books such as Alice in Wonderland, The Jungle Book, Trinity, and Frankenstein.
Episode 1: Ghost in Wonderland
Inspired by the books she’s learned about from Ghostwriter, Donna decides to write an original story of her own. But where to begin? GW writes the word “WHO” in her bullet journal and sends Alice from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland to help Donna understand the first step: Coming up with her main character.
Episode 2: The Jungle Ghost
Donna is excited about the main character in her original story, a fashion-loving spider named Sapphire. But what comes next? The word “WHERE” appears in her journal, and suddenly Donna is visited by Mowgli from The Jungle Book. He gets Donna thinking about how a character’s home is a place where they belong. Where will Sapphire live?
Episode 3: The Wild, Wild Ghost
Donna’s original story is coming along with Ghostwriter’s help! Her main character, Sapphire, now has a setting for her home: a book store! When the word “WHY” appears, Donna is greeted by Dale from the book Trinity, who describes all the ups and down they’ve been through. This inspires Donna to add the elements of plot—exposition, conflict, and resolution—to her story.
Episode 4: Franken-Ghost
The pieces of Donna’s original story are almost complete—she has a fully developed tale that includes a main character, a setting, and an exciting plot. It’s finally going to come to life! There’s just one problem: Donna doesn’t want it to end. But when the word “CREATE” appears, Donna is visited by Dr. Frankenstein from Frankenstein, who knows how things go wrong when you don’t finish them well. He shows her that she has to finish this story so she can start a new one!
